UAE petrol prices are going up in August
You might want to head to the pump sooner rather than later…
The UAE Fuel Committee has announced that petrol prices will increase slightly in August, following a previous drop in July.
Vehicle owners will now pay Dhs2.57 for Super 98, up from Dhs2.56 in July. Special 95 will now cost Dhs2.46 up from Dhs2.45, while the price of diesel will actually drop to Dhs2.63 from Dhs2.66.
All prices include the VAT rate of 5 per cent.

The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Before that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
