You can now earn Emirates Skywards Miles at this Dubai shopping mall
Scan in your Dubai Mall receipts to start racking up the air miles…
The Emirates Skywards loyalty programme is pretty fantastic – earn enough miles and you can spend them on everything from flights to concert tickets to iPods. Of course, you need to take a fair number of flights to rack up enough miles to afford the flashier offerings… that is until now.
Dubai Mall has announced that effective immediately, Emirates Skywards members will be able to redeem all purchases made at any of its outlets for Skywards miles via the new Emaar Malls Rewards Programme. That includes all retail stores, dining outlets and leisure activities like Dubai Aquarium and Reel Cinemas.
Every Dhs100 or more spent at the mall qualifies you for 1 Mile per US$1 (approx. Dhs3.67) for Silver, Gold and Platinum members, and 1 Mile per US$2 (approx. Dhs7.34) for Blue members. That means if you spend Dhs500 (or US$136) on a new pair of shoes, for instance, you would earn 136 Miles. Not too shabby.
Silver and Blue members can earn and spend up to 10,000 and 5,000 miles respectively each month, while the Platinum and Gold tiers have no limits on how much their members can earn.
Sounds great, how does it work?
To take advantage of the Emaar Malls Rewards Programme you’ll first need to be a registered Skywards member. Head to the Emirates website to sign up if you haven’t already.
You’ll then need to download the Dubai Mall app on your smartphone (on Android or iOS) and link it to your Skywards account. Once that’s sorted, you’ll be able to scan your receipts from anywhere in the mall (just remember they need to be over Dhs100) directly into the app and your Skywards account will be credited with the miles within 24 hours.
So, if you’ll excuse us, we’re off to buy a new sofa set to finally tip us over the line for that free trip to Bali we’ve been working on…
