Sheikh Hamdan attended day one of the Government Games in Dubai
150 teams from eight countries are competing for a Dhs2 million prize
Day one of the first ever Government Games took place at Kite Beach in Jumeirah on Wednesday – with a very special guest in attendance.
HH Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, took time out to walk the course that 1,100 participants from eight countries will compete over 10 tough obstacles.
Running until Saturday, May 12, 150 teams made up of government employees from the US, UK, Canada, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Thailand and Nigeria, will join their counterparts from the UAE to compete for a grand prize of Dhs2 million.
The first day was dedicated to the women’s qualifying rounds, with the men’s competition scheduled to begin today 8pm. The competition is a organised by the Executive Council of Dubai, in association with the Dubai Sports Council and Meraas.
