No Dubai International Film Festival this year
The film festival will now be held every two years, with the next edition to take place in 2019.
Last year it brought superstars like Cate Blanchett and Sir Patrick Stewart to the city, but the red carpet won’t be rolled out in 2018.
Organisers have confirmed that the 15th edition of the Dubai International Film Festival (DIFF) will instead take place in 2019, and from then on will be held every two years.
In a statement, they said the move was part of a new strategy to support the growth and evolution of the film and content industries in the region.
