We’ve never wanted that upgrade more…

Emirates has unveiled the revamped interiors for its Boeing 777 aircraft, which includes brand new first class suites inspired by Mercedes-Benz and NASA. Just casually.

The new suites, which were revealed on the first day of the Dubai Air Show, are part of a multi-million dollar upgrade that includes newly-designed seats and entertainment systems across all cabins.

But let’s start down the pointy end of the plane. Here’s a peek at those swagtastic new suites:

Each suite offers a whopping 40-square-feet of personal space – which is the size of an apartment in some cities (albeit, a very small one – click here if you don’t believe us).

The design has been inspired by Mercedes, with soft leather seating, high-tech control panels, and mood lighting.

Inspired by technology from NASA, the seat not only reclines into a fully-flat bed, but can be placed in a “zero-gravity” position, which is said to give a feeling of relaxation and weightlessness.

This might be our favourite part: Emirates is also introducing virtual windows for first class suites located in the middle aisle, which project the view from outside the aircraft using real-time camera technology.

In the window suites, binoculars are available for passengers who want to take a closer look.

What else? There’s not just a normal call button in these first class suites – passengers can ring in their requests using the video call function. Each suite also has a service window, so you can be served your drinks and canapes without being disturbed.

Need some entertainment? There’s only a 32-inch full HD LCD TV screen. You’ll be handed a pair of Bowers & Wilkins noise cancelling E1 headphones, created especially for Emirates.

So, when can we move in?

To top it all off, there’s a full-length cupboard to hang your clothes, and you’ll receive an ‘inspiration kit’, which includes a luxury Byredo skincare collection, Hydra Active moisturising pyjamas, and Bulgari amenity kits.

ERM, WHAT ABOUT THE REST OF US?

Fear not, non-first class friends, for there are some pretty cool features throughout the rest of the plane, too.

The entire Emirates 777 aircraft is said to sport a refreshed interior with a light and modern colour scheme, classy textured panels, as well as new lighting and design accents.

A Ghaf tree motif – considered the national tree of the UAE – will be dotted throughout the aircraft. Pretty Instagrammable, right?

If you manage to land a spot in business class, your seat will have been inspired by the interior of a modern sports car, with a diamond stitch pattern on the full leather cover, ergonomically-designed headrest, and a sleek overall look and feel.

The seat has a pitch of 72 inches and moves into a fully-flat sleeping position. It also has touchscreen controls, several personal lighting options, privacy panels between seats, a shoe stowage area, footrest, and a personal mini-bar. 

As for cattle class? The economy cabin now features a colour palette of soft greys and blues. The ergonomically-designed seats come with full leather headrests that have flexible side panels and can also be adjusted vertically for optimum support.

So, when can you check all of this out? The latest Emirates 777 aircraft with the new features will enter service on December 1, making its debut on flights to Geneva and Brussels.
