Stuck in JLT traffic last night? Here's why...
Some drivers were stuck in their cars for more than two hours…
If you were in Jumeirah Lakes Towers on Monday night, you probably experienced the bumper-to-bumper traffic that snaked its way around the entire neighbourhood.
Even by Dubai standards, this was bad.
The traffic chaos started around 6pm, creating havoc for residents trying to get home, and remained at a standstill at 10pm.

So, what was the explanation?
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) said the cause of the heavy traffic was a leak in a service pipeline on Al Sarayat Street in JLT, which meant two lanes had to be closed while repair work was carried out.

Monday wasn’t a great day for commuters in the JLT area. During the morning rush hour, hundreds of Dubai Metro passengers were left stranded along the Red Line due to a technical glitch causing major delays.
The RTA said the fault occurred between the JLT and UAE Exchange stations.
Dubai Police also reported two accidents on Monday night, leading to even more traffic congestion around the city.
