Casting directors are seeking British expats who live, work or play on The Palm.

Dubai is a favourite playground of many a British reality TV star (if you haven’t spotted a TOWIE cast member on a night out, are you even living in Dubai?) – but now the leopard print stiletto is on the other foot.

A London-based production company is searching for the stars of what appears to be a new reality TV series, centred around the lives of British expats who live on The Palm.

In an advert posted to UAE expat websites, Arrow Media has called for “individuals with big personalities and an interesting story to tell”.

The production company describes itself as “one of the UK’s most ambitious creative forces”. Previous work includes a National Geographic Channel series titled Ultimate Airport Dubai, which offered viewers “unprecedented access” into the operations at DXB.

According to BritishMums.com, makers are working with UK network ITV – also home to Love Island, The Only Way Is Essex, and Britain’s Got Talent – to develop the new series.

Those interested have been asked to contact casting@arrowmedia.com for more details.

This is not the first time our fair emirate has been courted by reality TV makers. In 2013, The Sun reported the producers of The Only Way Is Essex were looking at creating a movie spin-off of the show, set in Dubai.

“Dubai would be the perfect place as it is the current hip destination for young Essex boys and girls and it would be a great sunny location to film in,” a source was reported as saying at the time. The project never eventuated.

In 2009, American socialite Paris Hilton filmed a reality TV show called Paris Hilton’s Dubai BFF, in which she attempted to find a new best friend in the UAE. The show was originally supposed to air on Dubai TV, but was instead picked up by MTV.

The hotel heiress reportedly needed permission from HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice president of the UAE and ruler of Dubai, to be able to film here.

What’s On has contacted Arrow Media for comment.
