There's going to be a food truck that delivers to the needy in the UAE
Another good deed for the Year of Giving…
A major bank has joined forces with one of the UAE’s biggest charities to provide free food to those in need all over the country.
The initiative, called “Food For All”, will operate out of a food truck, delivering light meals to blue-collar workers every week.
It will be funded by Emirates Islamic, and carried out by the Beit Al Khair Society.
Awatif Al Harmoodi of Emirates Islamic said the collaboration demonstrated their full support to the Year of the Giving, as declared by H.H. Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE.

“Private sector partnership and cooperation form a key pillar of the Year of Giving initiative and we are confident that our participation will help effect positive change for those in need,” he said.
Abdeen Taher Al Awadi, general manager of Beit Al Khair, said the initiative would enable the charity to reach out to the maximum number of people in need.
“Food distribution for the needy has been one of the key projects at Beit Al Khair, and we have spent about Dhs77 million on this project over the last four years,” he said.
UAE FOOD BANK
Al Awadi said the initiative was in line with the UAE Food Bank, which was launched by H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, ruler of Dubai and Vice President of the UAE, last year.
The Food Bank, based at the Dubai Vegetable Market in Al Aweer, will distribute otherwise wasted food to those in need at both a local and regional level.
“The Year of Giving provides a golden opportunity for UAE citizens and institutions to maximise their philanthropic potential by launching humanitarian initiatives. We chose ‘food’ as our first initiative as it is one of the most basic human needs,” Sheikh Mohammed said.
“Through the UAE Food Bank, we aim to instill the value of giving deep in the hearts of our people.”
