Love the old IV? Well, there's a new Irish Village at Riverland
Ah, the IV, a classic Dubai spot. The good news? There’s now one up the other end of town…
Most people who have lived in Dubai for more than a handful of years will have spent an afternoon sitting in the sunshine at the Irish Village in Garhoud. The leafy-green, family- and dog-friendly 21-year-old spot is a bit of an old-school expat favourite.
The great news is that a new Irish Village has just opened up on the other end of town – you’ll find it at Riverland in Dubai Parks and Resorts, so it’s perfect for everyone up the Jebel Ali end of town.
The two-floor restaurant and pub has the classic Irish feel (memorabilia and all), but the best bit about it is the two terraces that look over Riverlands, well, rivers.
What’s on the menu? Well everything from Irish stew (Dhs66) to the roast of the day (from Dhs60) and a full English fry up (Dhs65). So yes, basically everything you’ve grown to love at the original IV.
Now, entry to Riverland is free, but before 6pm you’ll have to pay for parking at Dubai Parks and Resorts (you can read about the fees here). But let’s be honest, a lot of you will be catching a cab when visiting the IV.
Keen to know what else is at Riverland? You can read a full list of all of the restaurants and shops that you’ll find there here.
Still not sure where Riverland is? Well here’s where it is…
To put the location into perspective, it’s about a 35 minute drive from Mall of the Emirates.
The Irish Village Riverland is open 10am to 11pm on weekdays and 10am to midnight on weekends. Tel: (04) 886 2525. More info on website.
