Yas Mall is getting its first licensed restaurant
Korean steakhouse Mr Kim comes from the creators of Mamsha Al Saadiyat’s Les Dangereux…
Abu Dhabi’s Yas Mall has become quite the culinary hotspot, welcoming a string of recent openings including Huna food hall, Sticky Rice and Slrp Ramen. But the foodie offering is set to be elevated further at this retail emporium with the arrival of Mr Kim, a Korean steakhouse and gastrobar. The sleek spot, from the creator’s of Mamsha Al Saadiyat’s smash hit Les Dangereux, will become the first licensed venue at Yas Mall.
So, after you’ve shopped ’till you drop, you’ll be able to head to Mr Kim to fuel up on the finest cuts of Wagyu paired with top quality wines and cocktails.
A luxurious and upscale homage to Korea’s finest flavours, Mr Kim promises to present an extensive collection of Wagyu cuts like the prime Japanese A5, Australian MB9+ and the USDA Prime. But ensuring all tastes – and budgets – are catered to, Mr Kim’s meaty offering will also include non-Wagyu steaks that still promise full-flavour.
To complement the decadent menu, Mr Kim’s promises show-stopping design that is inspired by co-founder James Soo Yong Kim’s teenage years spent in the bustling nightlife scene of Kangnam-gu. Top muralist Tommiii Lim has created a multi-mural installation for the space, which will fuse Korean and Emirati elements into one visually striking ensemble. Touches like disco balls, dim lighting and monochrome accents ensure the space feels playful, yet sophisticated.
Of the upcoming opening, of which a date has yet to be announced, James Soo Yong Kim explains that the ambience is ‘deeply personal.’
“It’s a blend of my own cherished memories and the future memories I want to give to all of our guests.”
We can’t wait…
