Love all things Korean? There is a two-day Korean Culture Festival taking place this weekend in Abu Dhabi you’ve got to check out.
Taking place on Friday, October 27 and 28, the festival will gather together all K-pop fans in the UAE at Umm Al Emarat Park in Abu Dhabi. The festival has been taking place for the past 10 years under different themes. This year it’s Sustainable Culture: Flowing into the Future.
The actual event is free to attend, but you will need to pay Dhs10 per person for admission into the park.

What’s On at the Festival
Visitors can expect all things that showcase Korean culture from a film screening, beauty, clothes, games, art, workshops and even performances.
On Friday, October 27, the performance line-up includes K-Maestro by the National Gugak Center, Mut and Sinmeong: Elegance and the Divine Spirit by the Namwon City Art Troupe and a heart-pounding K-Pop performance by the K-pop sensation DIOS.
Day 2 will see performances by K-Music, Soul by the Chungbuk Cultural Foundation, but the highlight will be a K-pop concert titled KITE: K-POP in the Emirates.
Fancy a screening? On The K: Taekwon will be screened on Saturday, October 28 at 7.30pm. It is an online performance which merges two essential elements of Korean culture: K-pop and the traditional martial art, Taekwondo.
Speaking on the festival, Mr Yong Hee Lee, the Cultural Attaché of the Korean Embassy stated that it has been thoughtfully curated with performances ‘that revitalize traditional Korean dance and music, seamlessly fusing them with contemporary expression’.
