Hydrating masks to help you beat the summer heat

To get longer lasting results from your skin products, ditch your weekly sheet masks and try an overnight one instead. Japanese brand Shiseido Ibuki’s beauty sleeping mask contains condensed vitamin capsules (think tiny white beads that dissolve once they hit the skin) that are meant to help skin look more hydrated and refreshed. In the morning our skin looked plumper and felt smooth.

For those of you looking to combat wrinkles, the Shiseido WrinkleResist24 eye mask will have you place retinol-infused semi-circle sheets under your eyes for 15 minutes. While the cooling sheets did make our eyes feel refreshed, we didn’t see any big difference in our fine lines.

02. For your lips

To help you fake a pair of pouty lips, Korean skincare brand The Face Shop sells a cheap-as-chips BeBe Lip Mask. It’s a simple (and semi-effective) sheet mask and for best results exfoliate your lips lightly before wearing it for ten to 20 minutes. After a few minutes we began to feel a not unpleasant tingle and after it was removed, our lips did look slightly more plump than usual.

Starskin

For dry, scaly feet (especially true during sandal weather) beauty brand Starskin has launched exfoliating double layer foot mask socks that will slough up dead skin in a decidedly gentle way. The double layers mean the serum-infused booties act like a sauna, so it does get a bit steamy, but it’s not entirely unpleasant. Be warned: you’ll need to find a solid hour (or 90 minutes if your feet are really rough) to kick up your feet and let the mask do its work. And do be prepared for your skin to start peeling off in a week’s time or so.

Tips And Toes salon offers a treatment mask from Kerastase that is meant to hydrate your locks. You’ll receive a quick wash before getting a spray of Kerastase fusio-dose concentrate. After seven minutes there’s another rinse before an application of the creamy Kerastase masque densite, which is meant to plump up thin hair. Expect your hair to feel visibly softer and look shinier. Results are said to last for up to one week.
