Diwali is four to five day-long festival celebrated by Hindus, Jains, Sikhs and some Buddhists every autumn. Also known as the festival of lights, Diwali coincides with the Hindu New Year and celebrates new beginnings and the triumph of good over evil and light over darkness.

Dubai is celebrating with many things to do, but you can also check out the following places for an epic fireworks show.

Thursday: Dubai Festival City

Dubai Festival City Mall aims to showcase Diwali celebration to remember this Thursday, October 24. The popular destination will showcase a spectacular fireworks display, alongside the fourth edition of its huge IMAGINE show. The new show is called Hathi’s Garden and is based on the story of Prince Jai and Princess Maya who live with a family of elephants in India. Be sure to head down from 4pm on Thursday October 24, as there’ll be plenty happening in the build up to the fireworks. The huge display kicks off at 8pm, so make sure to get there early and find the best spot.

Saturday: The Pointe

Palm Jumeirah’s outdoor entertainment destination, The Pointe, is planning a huge fireworks display for its Diwali celebrations. On Saturday October 26, make sure you’re there before 9pm, when the night sky will light up with an array of stunning colours. There will also be special discounts from selected retailers with up to 25 per cent off food and beverages.

Sunday: Al Seef

Dubai Creek destination, Al Seef, is set to host a huge fireworks display on the official Diwali day, Sunday October 27. Starting at 8.30pm, there promises to be a stunning show, complete with live entertainment on the stage until 10pm, and a Diwali market until midnight.
