Instead, employees at these centres will guide customers to conduct transactions as well as paying bills and fines through smart channels such as mobile apps and websites.
The ‘Week without Service Centres’ initiative will run from today until October 25.
The initiative has been launched by the Government of Dubai’s Department of Finance, who have allocated Dhs1 million to be paid as cashback to those customers who use smart channels this week.
It follows a similar initiatve which was launched last year for the first time, where government services went online-only for a day.
The wider goal is to offer the majority of government services through smart channels by the end of 2021.
