Breaking a sweat…

2023 marked the seventh edition of the Dubai 30×30 fitness challenge and participants across the city were dedicated to an action-packed 30-day calendar full of sporting events and activities. One of the main activities we all look forward to is the Dubai Run and this year, runners were joined by astronomical participants – Dr Sultan Al Neyadi and his crew.

The annual Dubai Run also made history once again consolidating itself as the world’s largest community fun run.

Sheikh Hamdan led 226 thousand of participants in a wave of orange t-shirts, accompanied by the UAE astronauts Dr Sultan Al Neyadi and Hazzaa Almansoori for the 10-kilometre Dubai Run.

They were also joined by 69 of the crew members who were part of the historic mission aboard the International Space Station.

It’s a lifestyle

Continuously breaking records and boosting the overall health of residents in Dubai. His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai brought the city together to kick start a healthier and more active lifestyle.

This year the events brought over 35 thousand cyclists and more than 226 thousand runners to Sheikh Zayed Road alone. While the inaugural stand-up paddle saw 1,000 participants.

Taking place from October 28 to November 26, the Dubai Fitness Challenge welcomed three villages, and the much-loved DP World Kite Beach Fitness Village returned. A new village, the RTA Mushrif Park Cycle and Run and Ride Central opened.

The three free fitness villages, 26 community fitness hubs and thousands of free fitness events and activities brought residents together in new ways. So much so that the events brought in 2,406,181 participants across Dubai.

Sheikh Zayed Road hosted two mega events where the iconic road closed to cars and said hello to runners and cyclists. The fourth edition of the Dubai Ride saw over 35 thousand cyclists trek a whopping distance of 546 thousand kilometres – making it the region’s largest community cycling event.
