See a street artist spin at a top ladies’ night

Globally acclaimed and talented street artist, Alec Monopoly, will perform live at CE LA VI’s Monday ladies’ night this week, spinning rhythmic tunes against the stunning Downtown Dubai backdrop. Alec Andon is known professionally as Alec Monopoly for his thematic use of the iconic board game character, Mr. Monopoly. On Mondays, ladies can enjoy free-flowing drinks from 10pm to 1am.

Discover Old Dubai with a colourful twist

Sikka Art and Design Festival (previously called Sikka Art Festival) is now in full swing. It is back for its 10th edition running until March 24 at Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood. Essentially, during the festival, Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood turns into an open-air art museum. Throw on those walking shoes and explore the alleyways of Al Fahidi and immerse yourself in art by local and regional artists and more. There are paintings, graffiti, sculptures and outdoor art installations.

Sip tasty cocktails for less at some of the city’s top venues

World Class Cocktail Festival is in full swing in the UAE, bringing together the best of the region’s cocktail culture for a one-of-a-kind festival of mixology, celebrating the industry, the craft, and its artists. Until Sunday April 3, some of the city’s top mixology spots will be serving up a limited edition menu of sips and serves for Dhs 40. Providing a modern lounge experience, Iris Meydan will serve up sublime sips by award-winning mixologist, Sebouh Tato; Latin American eatery Coya Dubai at the Four Seasons Resort Jumeirah will put their twist on a fruity serve; and bohemian paradise Hotel Cartagena at the JW Marriot Marquis will also be serving up a selection of carefully curated beverages.

Watch an oyster shucking master at work

For 10 days starting March 24, the oyster will take centre stage at Anantara The Palm’s The Beach House. The Xavier Caille’s Oyster Shucking event will be taking place allowing you to glimpse the swift skills of Chef Xavier Caille. Shucking 30 oysters in under three minutes? Easy-peasy for Chef Xavier, who is the world oyster shucking champion. And he will be displaying his expertise at the beachfront restaurant from March 24 to April 2. Of course, it’s not all about the shocking speed at which this champion opens oysters. He will then show off his skills in the kitchen by creating tasty delicacies with the oysters infusing them with his favourite flavours.
