The Crown Prince of Dubai is a keen photographer…

It’s well known that H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai is a fan of living life to the full. He’s often seen exploring the city and is a keen amateur photographer.

Just a glance over his Instagram page is a fantastic advert for Dubai and everything it has to offer, from adrenaline-fuelled activities to wildlife. He’s just posted some incredible pictures of an elephant roaming in the desert.

The stunning shots show the majestic creature walking across the sand with the Dubai skyline in the background. The Crown Prince also captured beautiful images of Arabian Oryxes, the UAE’s national animal.

It’s unclear where these images were taken, however as it’s not the norm to see an elephant walking around in Dubai, it looks like they were taken at the Dubai royal family’s own private zoo, which is not open to the public.

Recently, Sheikh Hamdan and a couple of associates encountered massive African birds, ostriches whilst cycling. In videos posted to Sheikh Hamdan’s social media, the group could be seen riding along a cycling track, before an ostrich darts across the path of the Crown Prince, and a second charges in front of another rider.

Later in the video, as the two huge birds take the inside track, it looks as if the Crown Prince is racing against the majestic animals. Given that full-grown adult ostriches can reach speeds of up to 70 kilometres per hour, this is no mean feat.

To mark ‘World Turtle Day’ on June 16, 2020 Jumeirah Group’s Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project celebrated by releasing 45 rehabilitated Hawksbill turtles back into the wild.

Additionally, 20 hatchlings were released from Emirates Marine Environmental Group’s Jebel Ali Reserve. Sheikh Hamdan got involved too. In photos and videos posted to his Instagram page, he can be seen putting turtles of lots of different sizes into the Arabian Gulf, with the iconic Burj Al Arab behind him.
