Internet-famous Weetabix and beans challenge has made its way to Dubai
Do you dare?
These days more than ever, the internet is full of weird, wacky and wonderful things, with the most bizarre concepts often making for viral trends. One such viral hit was a recent picture of Heinz beans, served up on Weetabix cereal, which subsequently divided the internet.
The collaboration was a cunning PR stunt by agency Frank PR. The meme, posted to Twitter on February 9, stated “Why should bread have all the fun, when there’s Weetabix? Serving up @HeinzUK Beanz on bix for breakfast with a twist”.

It sparked a huge debate by Twitter users, and got picked up by various news outlets, including leading prime time morning UK TV show, Good Morning Britain. Now, the challenge has made its way to Dubai – do you dare to try this out-there combo?
Visit casual pub-restaurant, Garden on 8 to try it. If you manage to complete the whole dish and post a picture to Instagram, tagging Garden on 8, you will win a house beverage of your choice. It is priced at Dhs30.
British gastropubs Reform Social & Grill and Ultra Brasserie are also jumping on the bandwagon. As well as serving up the Weetabix and beans combo, the chef at Reform will also plate up bacon, banana and maple syrup as well as a Florentine benedict option, each priced at Dhs40.
At Ultra Brasserie, as well as baked beans and Weetabix (Dhs28) they’re also serving up Vegemite with cheese (Dhs28) and a third option of avocado and eggs (Dhs42).
Many other companies even got in on the beans hype, with hilarious responses on Twitter, doing their own versions of the baked bean challenge…
