The legacy hotel is the only one in the world to have been totally designed by the late Dame Zaha Hadid…

The first ME by Meliá hotel in the Middle East is set to open its doors in Dubai in February 2020.

ME Dubai, which will open inside The Opus building, promises to “reflect the spirit of the most fashionable parts of the European scene”. The five star property will become somewhat of a legacy in its own right when it opens at the start of next year, as it is the only hotel in the world to have been fully designed both inside and out by the late architect, Zaha Hadid. The Opus was the first and only foray into Dubai for the award-winning architect.

So, from the moment you step into the spacious lobby, to the day you check out of one of the thoroughly modern rooms and suites, guests can expect an impressive attention to detail, bespoke furniture and perception-challenging architecture.

The hotel is split between 74 rooms and 19 suites, which include ME by Meliá’s signature Passion Suite, Personality Suite and ultra-luxurious ‘ME Suite’, and 94 serviced apartments.

The hotel will offer three of its own restaurants, plus access to a further choice of no less than 15 restaurants in The Opus. Of these, we already know that London’s famed ROKA Japanese robata will be among them, alongside a third serving of the award-winning The Maine. A rooftop bar, something (hopefully) similar to the ME London’s Radio Rooftop, plus the largest nightclub in Dubai will also form part of The Opus’ entertainment and dining portfolio.

Guests will be able to cool off at the spacious pool and wet deck that overlooks the Dubai skyline, work up a sweat at the 7000 square metre state-of-the-art gym or enjoy some ‘me’ time at the luxury spa.

In keeping with the youthful, personality-led ethos of the ME brand, guests can expect personalised touches and curated experiences inspired by Dubai, the Middle East and beyond. Thanks to the hotel’s AURA manager, ME Dubai’s insider, responsible for tailor-making itineraries and organising experiences for guests whether they’re looking for the hottest new restaurants, must-visit parties or the events that everyone in the city wants an invite for.

“‘ME Dubai brings a new dimension to Dubai that will delight status seekers, culturalists and the creative elite across visitors and residents alike. The new property will act as a cultural epicentre for those looking for a personalised approach, unforgettable experiences, unparalleled gastronomy and exceptional service,” says Stefan Vinard, general manager of ME Dubai.

ME Dubai will be the seventh opening for the cool European hotel brand, joining existing openings including ME London, ME Ibiza and ME Sitges.
