We already know he’s a big fan of the chef behind it…

It’s pretty clear that H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum Crown Prince of Dubai has his finger on the pulse when it comes to new restaurant openings in Dubai.

He was among the first to dine at Gaia, when it opened in DIFC, and months later paid a visit to fellow DIFC Greek restaurant, Avli. Earlier this year he was spotted dining at another Greek restaurant, this time Ammos in JBR.

However when heading out to lunch this week, Sheikh Hamdan chose a new Mediterranean restaurant in Jumeirah. Called Fika, the restaurant recently opened in Jumeirah Beach Hotel, with acclaimed local chef Izu Ani at the helm.

The venue took to Instagram to share a snap of Dubai’s Crown Prince at the restaurant, describing his visit as “a pleasure”.

We’re not surprised to see Sheikh Hamdan pay the restaurant a visit, as we already know he’s a fan of chef Izu’s restaurants. When he visited Gaia in November 2018, chef Izu took to Instagram to share this fun snap of the duo:

Chef Izu also shared the recent image of Dubai’s Crown Prince at Fika, taking to Instagram to say that “it’s always a great honour to have him try out my new restaurants.”

Fika opened its doors only weeks ago in Jumeirah Beach Hotel. The Mediterranean-inspired healthy eating restaurant boasts simple, neutral interiors as well as a beautiful outdoor terrace that overlooks the hotel’s lap pool, set against the backdrop of the Burj Al Arab.
