Dubai has a reputation for being an expensive place to go out for dinner, but if you’re looking for a seriously wow-worthy dish, prepare for a hefty price tag. We’re not sure who can actually afford to order these meals on a regular basis, but we definitely want to try them!

Here are 10 of the most expensive meals in Dubai.

10. Chicken at Gaia – Dhs720

Royal approved restaurant, Gaia, serves up a black leg chicken which will set you back an impressive Dhs720. You’ll need to wait an hour for the kitchen to prepare it, but when it arrives you’ll have 1.6 kilograms worth to tuck into! It comes in a salt crust, with basmati rice, raisins and pine nuts.

9. Beef at Nobu – Dhs869

Nobu is known for its expertly prepared Japanese cuisine. On the menu is a Grade A5 Japanese beef which comes in at Dhs869 per 150 grams. You can choose the style you want it in: teriyaki, anticucho, toban yaki, flambe or ishiyaki; but the sides will cost you extra.

8. Sea bass at Al Mahara – Dhs980

Al Mahara is the high-end seafood restaurant in Burj Al Arab. Ideal for a special occasion or an important dinner, Al Mahara has a range of wallet-squeezing dishes on the menu. Most expensive, somewhat surprisingly, is the line-caught sea bass, which comes in at Dhs980 for a whole fish. It does come with potatoes and vegetables though, so a bargain really when you think about it.

7. Seafood tower at Pierchic – Dhs990

Seafood lovers might want to save up for this one. The Pierchic seafood tower might set you back almost Dhs1000 but it does come with lobster, bluefin tuna, ceviche, sea bass, salmon, scallops, mussels, king crab and rock oysters. Plus you have the added benefit of staring out into the uninterrupted views of Arabian Gulf and Burj Al Arab.

6. Steak at Nusr-et – Dhs1,250

For a cool Dhs1,250, you can feast on 400 grams of golden sirloin at Nusr-et’s infamous Dubai restaurant. Many have tried it, but usually it’s those famous faces (e.g. famous footballers, actors and reality stars).

5. Set menu at Hoseki – Dhs1,400

Intimate nine-seater restaurant, Hoseki, has limited menu options.The Ruri menu consists of an appetiser, sashimi, grilled fish, sushi, miso soup and an omelette, all for the grand total of Dhs1,400.

4. Steak at At.mosphere – Dhs1660

Got a spare Dhs2,000 and don’t know how to spend it? Why not opt for Dubai’s most expensive steak? Coming in at Dhs1660, the full blood 12+ Japanese Wagyu tenderloin steak comes with black truffle, pomme puree and seasonal mushrooms. Not forgetting the unbeatable view you’ll have overlooking Dubai from level 122.

3. Brunch at Imperium – Dhs2500

Imperium restaurant, in Jumeirah Zabeel Saray serves up the Royale Brunch, offering guests a bottle of Dom Perignon each! You also get a load of Beluga caviar, all beautifully served by your own private butler. Quite right too, when you consider you’re paying Dhs2,500 a head.

2. Ice cream at Scoopi Cafe – Dhs2999

It wouldn’t be Dubai without a little gold, and Scoopi’s pricey dessert is packed with it. The black diamond ice cream proudly claims to be the most expensive dessert in Dubai, made with Madagascan ice cream, Iraninan saffron, rare Italian black truffle and 23 carat gold. Served in the most extra gold plated bowl you’ve ever seen (which you can keep).

1. Caviar at Ossiano – Dhs4,959

It’s no surprise that this luxurious Atlantis restaurant comes top on our most expensive list. While most of the dishes on the menu cost more than a monthly food shop, the royal beluga caviar is the one at the top of the list, coming in at Dhs4,959 for a 50g portion. Chances are you’ll need more than that to fill you up for dinner, so for a full meal you’re looking at dropping the cost of a five-star holiday.
