Liquorice lovers, form an orderly queue…

There are few foods more polarizing than liquorice – much like marmite, you either love it, or you loathe it. But expect to be hearing a lot more about this divisive treat, as the world’s largest “liquorice library” has just opened in The Dubai Mall.

Die-hard liquorice lovers may already know about Lakrids, the gourmet Danish brand that produces the only handmade boiled liquorice in the world. The Dubai Mall store – located on the lower ground floor of Fashion Avenue – will be Lakrids’ first standalone boutique outside of Europe.

Inside the liquorice library, you can learn the story behind the brand and its various flavours (and do some tastings)…

There is even a private liquorice lounge…

What about the product? Lakrids is said to use only premium raw materials with no additives, and is completely gluten-free.

The liquorice comes coated in unique flavours like salty caramel, rose, mint-dark chocolate, raspberry chocolate, blueberry chocolate, dark and sea salt, passionfruit, and coffee.

You can also shop their special UAE collection, which comes in metallic tones.
