Chef Nobu paid a visit to Dubai's Waterfront Market
From Tsukiji to Deira…
Celebrity chef Nobu Matsuhisa is in town for Atlantis, The Palm’s month-long food festival. But the renowned Japanese chef took some time away from the pots and pans to check out Dubai’s new Waterfront Market.
Chef Nobu took a tour of the Hamriya Port market, which replaced the 60-year-old Deira Fish Market when it opened in June last year.

A brand new fish market has opened in Dubai
“I am very impressed with the diversity of fresh fish as well as fruit and vegetables on offer at the Waterfront Market,” the chef said.
“Having opened Nobu Dubai at Atlantis, The Palm 10 years ago, I can see such a notable improvement on the range of fresh seasonal produce now available in Dubai. There are so many items here that you just couldn’t find 10 years ago.”
The state-of-the-art facility, located at the intersection of Al Khaleej Road and Abu Hail Street, is spread over more than 100,000 square metres, and sells fresh fish, fruit, vegetables and meat. There are even live cooking stations where you can get your fish cooked for you.
The market is also home to restaurants, cafes, shops and a hypermarket. The fish section of the market is open 24 hours a day, while restaurants are open from 9am to midnight.
