The countdown is on to October 2020…

The clock is counting down with less than 900 days to go until Expo 2020 when Dubai opens its doors to over 180 countries.

In a video released by the Dubai Media Office, you can bare witness to the transformation that is taking place at the site in Dubai South where all the action will take place come 2020.

Turning this tranquil desert landscape in 2016:

Into a marvel of cutting-edge architecture and engineering in just four short years:

Over 15,000 workers have already spent more than 16 million man hours preparing the 4.38km sq site, which is scheduled to be ready a full year before doors officially open to the world on October 20, 2020.

In the timelapse video below you can see the site coming together, from the spherical structure that will act as Expo 2020’s central hub, to the tracks for Route 2020, the extension to Dubai Metro being purposely built for the fair.

Not much longer to go now, we can’t wait to see it finished.
