Fancy (virtually) clambering up and leaping off the world’s tallest tower?

Dubai has no shortage of extreme ways to get your adrenaline pumping – from jumping out of an aeroplane at Sky Dive Dubai, to zip lining between Dubai Marina skyscrapers. And now you can add scaling the world’s tallest building to that list, at least virtually anyway.

Taiwanese tech company HTC  has unveiled their latest virtual reality headset, the Vive Pro, and announced a partnership with Emaar Properties to give visitors to the Burj Khalifa’s At The Top observation deck a taste of what it would be like to climb the iconic tower.

The specially developed game, dubbed Mission 828, simulates the experience of scaling all of the building’s 828 metre exterior to the top of the spire before (gulp!) taking a parachute jump down to the Dubai Fountain below.

Six VR pods have been installed on the 124th and 12th floors where visitors can try the heart pounding experience.

One virtual clamber up and leap off the Burj Khalifa costs Dhs35, although you’ll also need a ticket to At The Top to get access.
