Dubai to declare its own public holiday dates
There are seven public holidays remaining this year.
Dubai’s Department of Human Resources will be making its own public holiday announcements from now on.
Under a new resolution issued on Tuesday, the department will announce the dates of the holidays “as declared by competent authorities in the UAE”.
Public holidays for both the public and private sector are usually announced by the country’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation.

The department will take into consideration the working mechanisms and hours of governmental bodies and organisations when specifying the dates of the holiday, government news agency WAM reports.
The last public holiday, Isra’a Wal Miraj, was observed on Saturday, April 14. The next holiday, Eid Al Fitr, will take place in June.
Federal law states that public holidays in the UAE can be moved to the beginning or end of the week if they fall between two working days.
We will of course let you know of any public holiday announcements, or you can check the Dubai Government Human Resources Department website here.
