Good conduct certificate suspended until further notice
The move comes into effect from April 1.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MOHRE) has confirmed that the requirement of a Certificate of Good Conduct, or police clearance certificate, for those looking to change jobs within the UAE has been suspended until further notice.
The news comes from a series of tweets sent by the MOHRE to customers enquiring about the status of the new law that was rolled out in February 2018. According to a report from The National, the suspension goes into effect on April 1. The tweets have since been taken down, so we are unable to post them here.

This is further to a report in March that cited official sources saying it would be mandatory for anyone applying for a job – either in or outside of the UAE – to present a certificate from their home country, or their country or residence showing they have no criminal history for the past five years.
No specific timeline has been given for the how long the suspension is expected to last and we will continue to update you as this story develops.
