UAE petrol prices to increase in January 2018
Don’t forget, VAT is starting in January…
After a year of consistent price hikes, the price at the pump is set to go up again in January.
The UAE’s Ministry of Energy has announced that road users will pay Dhs2.24 for Super 98, up from Dhs2.15 in December.
Special 95 will now cost Dhs2.12, up from 2.04, while E Plus will cost Dhs2.05, up from Dhs1.97.
Diesel prices will rise from Dhs2.20 to Dhs2.33.

In January 2017, consumers paid Dhs1.91 per litre for Super 98. This means if you were filling up the 105-litre tank of your Range Rover, it will now cost you Dhs235.2 instead of Dhs200.55.
The VAT rate of five per cent for petrol will also be applied starting January 1, 2018 (this is included in the above prices).
The UAE’s Ministry of Energy first began setting fuel prices based on average global prices in August 2015. Before that, the price of petrol in the UAE was subsidised by the government, which shielded consumers from global fluctuations in the cost of petrol.
