It’s one of the city’s most popular weekend spots for dog walking and camping – but you can no longer do either activity at Al Qudra Lakes.
According to a Khaleej Times report, a number of signboards showing banned activities have recently gone up in the lakes area, within the Al Marmoum Conservation Reserve.
The banned activities shown on the signs are:
– Bonfires
– Camping
– Barbecuing/cooking
– Littering
– Dog walking
– Swimming
– Fishing
– Feeding animals
– Hunting/killing wildlife
– Cutting/removing plants
– Entry of vehicles and motorcycles

Those who violate the rules will be slapped with a Dhs500 fine – which will be doubled for repeat offenders.
Abdulmajeed Sifaie, director of the Waste Management Department for Dubai Municipality, previously told Khaleej Times the fines were a last resort to preserve the area’s natural beauty.
“We tried to avoid fining people as much as possible, but we noticed the condition continued getting worse as the place continues to attract more visitors,” he said.
The area is home to hundreds of exotic birds, including starlings, eagles, falcons and flamingoes.
