When? Word is the burgers will start being served around the end of summer….

Last Saturday at 3pm we tried to slip into Black Tap at the new Jumeirah Al Naseem hotel. ‘It’s in between breakfast and lunch,’ we thought. ‘It’ll be easy to get a table,’ we thought.

Oh no. The wait for a table for two was going to be 45 minutes. We do like their patties, but no burger is worth that.

Well, the good news for those of you – like us – who don’t like waiting for that long, is that a new Black Tap is opening in Dubai this autumn. Where will it be?

In the brand new Rixos Premium opening on JBR (you know, the huge geometric and shiny tower being built where the free carpark for JBR beach used to be).

When will it open? Well, the team at the Madinat Black Tap originally told us that they’re anticipating being ready to serve freak shakes by the end of Ramadan, but we’ve now been told they’re aiming for a Q3 opening – so that would mean JBR burgers just as the weather cools down again.

So yes, you could spend the day at The Beach and then round things off with one of these to get your calcium intake up:

But that’s not all…

The new Rixos on JBR will be opening any week now – still don’t know which building it’s in? This is what it looks like:

Another Dubai institution is getting a second home there – the loud, proud and always fun Lock Stock (which you’ll currently find in the Grand Millennium Hotel in Tecom) is opening its second branch there. Expect crowds and party brunches a-plenty when this opens up in JBR.

The 443-room hotel will also be home to a steakhouse, a beach bar, an Italian restaurant and a large spa complete with a hammam.
