Dubai wet weather: Rain is in the air on Valentine's Day
That’s right, it’s raining in Dubai AGAIN.
Love is in the air today – and so is rain, as the UAE continues to experience a week of unstable weather conditions.
The National Centre for Meteorology and Seismology has confirmed the wet weather is set to continue for the rest of the week, with convective clouds and scattered thundery rainfall.
Fresh to strong winds are also blowing dust and sand, causing poor visibility of less than 500 metres, and rough waters in the Arabian Gulf and Oman Sea.
Here’s the latest map showing the rainfall over the UAE – pale blue means drizzle, dark blue indicates light rain, and yellow represents moderate rainfall. Green means humidity, and as you can see, it’s pretty sticky out there.
This is what the map looked like on Sunday morning, when we woke up to rain. The NCMS says the islands and coastal areas will be most affected over the next couple of days.
Dubai residents have taken to Twitter and Instagram to share their delight at the rare wet weather. Here are some of our favourites.
Yet again #rain in UAE.
Happy Valentines day world.

2017 is already shaping up to be an interesting year for the UAE, weather wise. Earlier this month 65km/ph winds wreaked havoc on Dubai, causing a construction crane to topple over near Sheikh Zayed Road.
Meanwhile, those in Ras Al Khaimah experienced snowfall on the Jebel Jais mountain.
