Here's fantastic news for anyone living in Dubai Investment Park
A massive new interchange has just opened that will ease traffic for those living in Dubai Investment Park and Dubai South.
Anyone living in the Green Community, Dubai Investment Park or Dubai South will be pleased to hear that the Al Houdh Interchange is now open.
This means the Al Houdh roundabout has now been upgraded from a signal junction into a free-flowing flyover, allowing unobstructed movement in all directions.
This major new road will not only ease off traffic for those who live in DIP, it will also be a handy route for those travelling to Maktoum Airport.
The brand new road is right on the interchange between Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road and Al Yalayis Road, and it will come in particular handy during the Dubai Expo 2020.

The fact it’s now open will mean traffic will flow more easily from Al Yalayis Road towards Dubai Investment Park, and from Al Yalayis Road towards Sheikh Zayed Road and Jebel Ali Free Zone.
It will also help ease traffic both ways on Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
Interestingly, one of the project’s key design plans was to leave space for the Etihad Rail (a high speed train that will link Abu Dhabi to the Saudi border at Ghweifat and the Omani border at Al Ain).
HERE’S WHAT THE WHOLE PROJECT HAS INVOLVED
– A 7km section of Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Road has doubled in size, going from three lanes in each direction to six lanes – the new 12-lane highway runs from Al Maktoum International Airport to the Jebel Ali-Lehbab Road roundabout (which borders Dubai Investment Park).
– The larger project included the construction of a Service Road on both sides of Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road. This runs from near Dubai Investment Park up to the junction of Al Khail and Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road (near City Centre Meaisem).
Construction earlier this year
– Al Houdh roundabout has been upgraded into a free flyover so that the area can eventually accommodate the track for Etihad Rail.
– There has also been the construction of a flyover linking Hessa Road, Al Khail Road and the Al Barsha Area with Sheikh Mohammed Bin Zayed Road.
