Samsung Galaxy Note 7 banned from Dubai airports
This just in: Samsung Galaxy Note 7s are now banned from Dubai Airports (well, you can take your phone into the terminal, but you won’t be able to fly out with it).
That’s right, a statement from Dubai Airports has told passengers to leave their Galaxy Note 7s at home, as they will be confiscated prior to boarding, no matter the airline.
Why? Well, the Galaxy Note 7 has a slight defect. It occasionally explodes.
“In light of advisories from various aviation regulatory bodies and concerns raised by Samsung about its Galaxy Note 7 smartphone, passengers are advised that these devices are prohibited on all flights leaving Dubai International and DWC.”

While no incidents of the Galaxy Note 7 exploding have been reported in the UAE, there have been close to 100 reports in the US alone of overheating issues.
Thirteen of which resulted in burns and 47 of which resulted in property damage.
I HAVE A NOTE 7, WHAT DO I DO?
The existing Note 7 stock has been pulled from the market by Samsung Gulf.
Hashim Al Nuaimi, Director of Consumer Protection in the UAE Ministry of Economy, has said that Samsung Gulf have agreed to exchange or replace Galaxy Note 7 devices sold in the UAE (there were around 19,000 sold in total).
