What’s On announces Cody Wise in Dubai, at White Dubai Meydan. The ‘It’s My Birthday’ star will be at White’s URBN Night on November 15.

Cody Wise, the man behind one of 2014’s catchiest and most popular songs, will make his UAE debut on November 15 at White Dubai, the club which celebrates his first birthday this December.

The ‘It’s My Birthday’ hit-maker will perform at the rooftop club at Meydan Racecourse as part of their new URBN night series which launched in late October. The night is dedicated to hip hop and RnB, and sees women enjoy themselves on the house.

Wise, who teamed up with Will.I.Am for his monster track, is a modern day Justin Beiber success story having been discovered on YouTube.

His big break came when, at the age of 13, his rendition of the Jackson Five’s Who’s Loving You at a concert called Fam Jams in Philadelphia, was spotted by the former Black Eyes Peas man.

Speaking earlier this year when ‘It’s My Birthday’ reached number oner in the UK, Wise, now 18, remembered: “A producer that he was working with at the time named Jean Baptiste showed him my video and he flew me out to California and we ended up meeting and hanging out and bonding.

“Will’s like a mad scientist. The moment he hears something he goes into mad scientist mode, especially in the studio. We end up coming up with stuff out of nowhere.

“I was in America at the time and Will tweeted me and he was like `Yo, it’s number one in the UK, it definitely won’t be your last’.

“I remember it was, like, 4am when he did this and I freaked out, I didn’t believe it…but it was 4am and I was about to go to bed. But then I couldn’t go to bed because I was so excited.”
