Walk into Purobeach Urban Oasis, the new pool party at the Conrad Hotel, and you’ll either feel like you’re in a Duran Duran music video from the 1990s or in the back garden of a rapper’s Miami mansion – neither of which are bad things.

This new – and unique – addition to the many beach bars in Dubai is the sort of place where girls wear bikinis, jean shorts and high heels and the levels of pouting and posing has to be seen to be believed.

Hidden away at the back of the Conrad Hotel, Purobeach is beautifully laid out across 3000 square meters, with lawns, patios, trees and a waterfall. The roar of Sheikh Zayed Road is quickly forgotten – in fact, it is barely heard – as you saunter along its tropical paths lined with flowering plants while clutching a cocktail. There are shady cabanas and plenty of loungers and chairs from where you can surreptitiously check out the good looking crowd from behind your aviators.

For guests, there are 100 individual cushioned sun beds, large double size Poolside lounge beds, showers, lockers and changing areas, as well as free wireless internet connection all over the club. There is even a shisha area set back from the main gardens.

Once the sun had gone down, the atmosphere cranked up a notch and Purobeach became an outdoor club as girls slipped on sun dresses and danced to beats from DJ Sebast on the patio. But, sadly, no Duran Duran hits.

Originally launched in Majorca, Purobeach is a seaside hangout on the Balearic island, perched on a mini peninsula in the middle of Palma Bay, with its own 180 degree view, including the dramatic landscape.
